Janie Goldberg-Dicks is President of Margie Korshak, Inc. Putting the right people together to create the right result is a special skill that Goldberg-Dicks mastered long ago.
Her expertise in entertainment, hospitality, lifestyle and philanthropy includes media relations, event coordination and influencer campaigns. Her clientele has included theatrical performances, special attractions and movie premieres; restaurants, hotels and shopping centers; retail, fashion and beauty; consumer products; businesses; and non-profit organizations.
Goldberg-Dicks has been a core of the agency since 1973. She handled the monumental openings of Disneyquest and ESPN Zone; Old Navy and Sears on State Street; Embassy Suites Hotel Chicago Downtown-Lakefront; and The Shops at North Bridge, to name a few. She launched Krispy Kreme Doughnuts in the Chicagoland area, managed public relations and events for the re-design launch of the Chicago Tribune; created the concept for ChicagoNow's Blogapalooza; implemented the key influencer campaign for popchips in the Chicago market; and opened "The Book" for the Horseshoe Hammond Casino. On a national level, she implemented a 180-city campaign for the Fox & Hound, Champps and Bailey’s Restaurant & Bar, matching selected non-profits in each local market to receive fundraising proceed through an extensive publicity and marketing campaign.
Her roster of Chicago institutions includes: Broadway In Chicago, Chicago Magazine, Garrett Popcorn, Highland Park CBD Public/Private Economic Alliance (Downtown Highland Park), Home Run Inn and NEWCITY. Most recently, she has worked on the introduction of Recovery Centers of America at St. Charles to the community.
In the non-profit arena, Goldberg-Dicks has worked with high-profile groups such as Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Gateway for Cancer Research, National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, Les Turner ALS Foundation, Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation and Starlight Children’s Foundation.
A strong part of her early career included a wide spectrum of entertainment and hospitality clients, ranging from the representation of book tours; historical live entertainment, including the Chicago Tribune Charities production of “The Nutcracker,” Michael Bennett's original Chicago Premiere of “A Chorus Line,” and the Chicago Premiere of the film “Grease” with Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. Goldberg-Dicks has been involved in the development of many well-known restaurant operations, including the Levy Organization and Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, and has promoted entrepreneurs, physicians and political leaders.
Goldberg-Dicks continues to create and implement public relations programs, develop community and promotional partnerships, manage accounts and media relations, develop crisis management plans and pursue new business opportunities.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Theater from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where she also received teaching certification in Speech, English and Theater has been a union member of the Association of Theatrical Press Agents and Managers (ATPAM) since 1980.
